Virat Kohli was back in his element on Friday (March 23) during the IPL 2024 opener between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, which was also his first professional appearance in over two months.
Kohli did not take part in the India-England Test series due to personal reasons, which made the IPL 2024 opening game his first outing on the field in a while. The former India skipper, known for his antics while playing, was in his elements at Chepauk and was seen grooving to classic songs on the boundary ropes during the game.
Known for his impromptu dance moves on the songs played by the in-house DJ at the ground, Kohli did not let go of the opportunity when the famous “Appadi Podu” song was being blared from the speakers against Chennai. His steps left the sub-fielders around him amused.
Kohli later also gave a send-off to Rachin Ravindra after his dismissal following a fiery knock. RCB went onto lose the game. Kohli scored 21 in the game and was out following a brilliant relay catch by Ajinkya Rahane and Ravindra.
